Montego Bay Magic -
After Nature's wrath...perfection
Bride: Shana Michelle Dixon. Groom: Cabot A.C. Parker
The decision to have a destination wedding was a huge compromise for both my husband and me. We finally agreed to have our wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica, because neither of us had ever visited the island of Jamaica. I was able to locate the Day O Plantation Restaurant and Bar, which is owned and operated by Mrs. Jennifer Hurlock and just a short drive from the city of Montego Bay.
She organized everything, including transportation for guests, a huge local Jamaican buffet, a very delicious wedding cake and minature bottles of Jamaican rum for our wedding favors. Mrs. Hurlock also arranged for our live entertainment to include a soloist (Ms. Pauline Clark), a one man band (her husband, Mr Paul Hurlock), and a Caribbean showcase featuring a steelpan drummer (Mr Cabot Paul), limbo and firedancers. Her service was impecable. The most stressful moment occurred three day before the wedding. a huge thunderstorm hit and left our hotel without power outage.
We were forced to evacuate the hotel, and had to inform our guests. But my most memorable moment was the Caribbean showcase performance, which turned out to be the highlight of my wedding. Overal, my destination wedding was perfect because we enoyed both the wedding and Jamaica.
Our wedding also inspired a lot of close friends and family members to enjoy Montego Bay.
